Job Title: Vice President of Finance
Reports To: Co-CEO

Our client is a dynamic, fast-growing private equity-backed manufacturing company serving the agriculture industry. Founded by two entrepreneurs, they've recently taken on a PE partner to help them scale. With strong EBITDA, they're projecting to double revenue. Their growth strategy is twofold - Organic and M&A. Their product is a disruptor in the space so they see a ton of organic growth potential.

As they scale operations and continue to invest in infrastructure, they are looking for an experienced and results-driven Vice President of Finance to join the leadership team. This role is pivotal in helping them navigate their growth trajectory, optimize financial performance, and establish robust financial systems that support both short-term and long-term success.

Position Overview:
The Vice President of Finance (VP of Finance) will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring the integrity of financial data, optimizing cash flow, and leading financial strategy. This executive will collaborate with senior leadership to guide the financial direction, drive profitability, and manage risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, and experience in high-growth companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership:
    • Lead the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting process to ensure alignment with company goals.
    • Provide strategic guidance and advice to senior leadership on financial performance, trends, and strategic initiatives.
    • Support fundraising efforts, acquisitions, and other financial transactions, working closely with external partners and private equity firms.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements and performance reports.
    • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial health and operational efficiency.
    • Ensure timely reporting and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including taxes and audits.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
    • Develop strategies to optimize working capital, liquidity, and cash flow management.
    • Manage banking relationships, credit lines, and financing structures to support growth.
  • Board & Stakeholder Reporting:
    • Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and strategic insights to the Board of Directors.
    • Serve as the key point of contact for Board members on financial matters, ensuring alignment between financial goals and company strategy.
    • Provide actionable recommendations to the Board to support decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Build, mentor, and lead the finance team to enhance performance and professional growth.
    • Ensure the finance team is equipped with the necessary tools, systems, and training to succeed in a growing environment.
  • Systems & Process Improvement:
    • Oversee the implementation of finance-related systems and technologies to improve operational efficiency.
    • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, ensuring scalability and accuracy as the company grows.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA is a plus).
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in finance, with a proven track record in leadership positions.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed company, ideally in a high-growth or scaling environment a plus. Would also look at profiles from larger companies if the individual had the desire to join a more entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and best practices.
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, analysis, and performance measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at the executive level and provide strategic financial leadership.
  • Experience preparing and presenting financial information to Boards of Directors and other key stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems (NetSuite a plus.).
