Job Summary

This role will be responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and management of property insurance programs within the organization. The role will involve driving strategy for program development, oversight of partner underwriting teams, compliance with underwriting and corporate governance standards, and fostering effective communication across departments. The role will work closely with executive leadership and functional areas to ensure alignment with business goals.

The Everest Underwriting Partners division of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Vice President - Property Programs to join our team.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Deliver underwriting profitability by managing program partners and books of business within the programs division in the United States.
  • Ensure full compliance with all underwriting guidelines, authority grants and underwriting strategy through direct interaction and collaboration with all program partners on both a transactional and portfolio basis. This would include but not be limited to: handling referrals; ensuring the proper governance provisions are in place through the audit process; liaising with Legal, Product Development, Corporate Underwriting and Actuarial to deliver suitable policy forms and endorsements and the proper tools to best analyze individual risk and portfolio characteristics; identify existing and potential program portfolio risks, actively track and report out on the exposure.
  • Responsible for identifying areas for growth in delegated authority and digital distribution by continuing to build and foster new and existing partner relationships.
  • Provide on-going underwriting training and development of new and existing staff by identifying both emerging risks and growth opportunities.
  • Function as a subject matter expert for key industry verticals and policy coverage items.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • 15+ years of Property underwriting experience.
  • 10+ years of leadership or underwriting oversight experience
  • Deep knowledge of Property underwriting.
  • Bachelor's degree or greater.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Exceptional oral and written communication with the ability to concisely provide executive summaries to senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving analytical skills, with an ability to drive data analytics and make appropriate conclusions on results.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines across a variety of stakeholders to meet targets and deliverable dates.
  • Team oriented and ability to collaborate effectively with peers.
  • Demonstrated bias for action with a high sense of urgency, strong work ethic and drive for results.
  • Experience with corporate governance and controls management, including processes and systems.
  • Experience with a wide variety of assignments around operational workflow including systems is an asset.
  • Some travel, including overnight or extended trips.

For CA and NY Only: The base salary range for this position is $220,000 - $275,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
