Job Summary:
This position works with Sonographers, Radiology RNs and Radiologists to provide general patient care and helps facilitate exams and treatment of ultrasound patients. The Ultrasound Assistant provides clinical as well as administrative assistance to the team as needed. Assists with studies, organizes and stocks rooms, transports patients, prepares patients for exams, and helps schedule same day add on appointments. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through direct patient care experience.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:High School diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program or Medical Assistant Program is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing care, resolving patient care problems and dealing with patients and families. Effective interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills. Proven competency in the performance of basic vital signs and blood glucose monitoring.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:Current State of Wisconsin Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate) must be obtained within 18 months of hire. BCLS certified within 90 days of hire / transfer into this position is required.
