ECS is seeking a qualified Senior Technical Lead to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy.
An enthusiastic Technical Lead who enjoys the challenge of supporting a technical team, accountability for the day-to-day success of the project, leveraging past technical experiences, and connecting dots while providing broader strategic support. A strong desire and aptitude for learning is a must with a proven ability to adapt and drive change.
Daily responsibilities may include:
Supervise, coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices; including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software. Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems. Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols. Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks. Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP. Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the government. Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems.
Required Skills:
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or DOE Q clearance throughout the life of the contract
- Must be a US Citizen
- Master's Degree in information systems, business administration (MBA), or a relevant Master's Degree in the field in which they will manage AND four years of experience managing projects adhering to formalized project management frameworks AND four years of experience managing personnel AND one or more expert-level technical certification in the related field
OR - Bachelor's Degree in information systems, business administration, or a relevant Master's Degree in the field in which they will manage AND six years of experience managing projects adhering to formalized project management frameworks AND six years of experience managing personnel AND one or more expert-level technical certification in the related field
OR - Ten years of experience managing projects adhering to formalized project management frameworks AND eight years of experience managing personnel AND one or more expert-level technical certification in the related field
- Must currently live in Morgantown, WV or willing to relocate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 5+ Years' Experience providing technical support as part of a corporate or government information technology department
- Experience as a Technical Manager or team leader / supervisor
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot PC hardware and software issues
- Ability to support users in an Active Directory environment
- Knowledge of Active Directory Administrative tasks
- Ability to support MS Outlook with MS Exchange
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues (including, LAN, WAN and VPN)
- Ability to troubleshoot local and network printer issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills: - Two or more years experience supporting US Government customers
- Project Management Professional certification
- Experience supporting complex government and programs of a research and development nature
