RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Tax Manager in Saint Petersburg, FL.Roles and Responsibilities:- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other applicable taxes; Review tax returns prepared by staff or external service providers
- Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations; Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to identify opportunities and risks
- Financial Reporting: Coordinate with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax provisions for financial reporting purposes; Assist in the preparation of tax-related disclosures for financial statements
- Tax Research: Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide guidance to management or clients on the tax implications of business transactions, investments, and other activities
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback; Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow and development of team members
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing high-quality tax advisory services and addressing their tax-related concerns and inquiries
- Tax Technology: Evaluate and implement tax software and technology solutions to streamline tax processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure accuracy in tax reporting and compliance
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree (e.g., Master of Taxation) or Enrolled Agent certification, required
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department preparing 1040, 1120s, 1065s, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide practical solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory authorities
- Proficiency in Drake or Ultratax tax software and Microsoft Office applications
- Leadership abilities with a demonstrated track record of managing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
- Will be required to be onsite at the beginning with gradual move to hybrid
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
