Department Summary

The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation (KHPR) has over 1,300 undergraduate and graduate majors and 31 faculty and staff.

Position Overview

The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation (KHPR) is searching for a Student & Program Coordinator to facilitate the following areas:

Internships

• Assist students in securing internships, coordinate and maintain records, communicate with students and advisors, identify and vet internship sites, and vet supervisors.

Travel

• Coordinate, submit, and maintain travel records and assist with arranging travel.

Building Use

• Oversee instructional/teaching laboratory spaces and other department facilities, submit requests for maintenance and renovations, manage inventory.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and one year of professional related experience in coordinating or administering higher education programming or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to prioritize multiple ongoing responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Concur.
• Prior experience as internship, travel, and/or building use specialist or coordinator.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Valid Driver license

Job Duties:

• Assists students with securing internships and maintains internship placement records.
• Assists students with internship preparedness including resume preparation and interviewing skills.
• Promotes internships among KINE students.
• Manages departmental reports for SACS and UNT CORE Assessment.
• Manages departmental conference/seminar travel records for faculty and students.
• Oversees scheduling for departmental instructional/teaching laboratories and other facilities and equipment.
• Manages maintenance, repairs, and renovations for departmental buildings/space.
• Conducts departmental inventory and space management.

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
