Salary: $65.00 USD Hourly - $70.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Postgres DBA --REMOTE
PostgreSQL DBA Senior 10 or more years' experience managing PostgreSQL databases in a Linux environment.
In-depth knowledge of Postgres utilities.

Experience managing Amazon RDS implementation, including Postgres migrations and deployments.

Familiarity with managing versions and deployment in RDS and on-premise servers.

Experience crafting shell scripts (Linux, Python).

Experience in implementation of various monitoring tools.

Familiarity managing database, deployment, monitoring, and benchmarking statistics.

Manage lifecycle support of database systems by applying patches, upgrades, and routine database operations.

Support an enterprise class environment running PostgreSQL database management systems including installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security. Design and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, and queries for performance and scalability. Implement robust backup and recovery strategies including regular backups, point-in-time recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Monitor and manage database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, and conducting routine maintenance tasks.

Configure and run high availability solutions such as replication and ensure continuous database availability. Implement database security standard methodologies including access control, authentication, and compliance standards.

Use strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues.

Perform database capacity planning and trend analysis.

Use scripting and automation tools to perform database administration tasks and streamline operations.

Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and L1/L2 support.

Build high quality documentation including database designs, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Perform security log reviews for audit compliance; detect, report, and escalate anomalies.

Deliver training, mentoring, and coaching to other Database Administrators through free flow of information, encouraging and appropriately evaluating feedback, encouraging innovation, and inspiring / motivating others.

Provide on-call rotational 24/7 incident response to database alerts escalated by production monitoring.
