Your role

Digital Realty is currently looking for a Senior Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team to work closely with our Corporate Services, Operations, and other groups to implement and maintain quality and customer focused solutions.

Based on the nature of our industry, our solutions utilize and rely on a wide variety of technologies. As such, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated person who can administer enterprise solutions as well as be flexible enough to explore revolutionary or "outside the box" ideas to get the job done. We need people who take pride in being a subject matter expert in their domain yet understand and explore the many other talents of IT; someone with expert knowledge of Cisco IOS and networking in general.

What you'll do

  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Design and implementation of network solutions (as a part of the Network Engineering team)
  • Maintain and update detailed network documentation
  • Provide escalation point for resolving complex problems requiring advanced skills and research capability
  • Maintain vendor relationships and ensure compliance with licensing and support agreements
  • Manage projects utilizing remote hands vendors and internal staff
  • Provide support knowledge sharing, authoring, and maintenance of system run books and documentation
  • Independent worker who drives work to completion based on pre-devised project plan
  • Communication with customers and team members throughout project assignments; reports back progress through project management system at regular intervals
What you'll need
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco products, their functionality, configuration and best practices
  • QoS, IPSLA, DMVPN, WAN, MPLS, SIP, PRI, IPSEC, STP
  • Cisco AnyConnect VPN
  • Working knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows networking configuration and protocols
  • Error investigation, Troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Minimum five years' experience as a network engineer responsible for a primarily Cisco based network
Preferred candidates meet the following skillsets:
  • Experience in data center industry
  • Cisco Certification Network Professional certification or higher
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds monitoring platform
  • Cisco - 5+ years (route (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), switch, DMVPN, IPSec, SSL VPN)
  • Fortinet, Palo Alto - 3+ years (Firewall)
  • Meraki Experience
  • Experience Cisco DNA/ISE
Nice to Have:
  • Zero Trust
  • zScaler
  • Cloud Experience - 1-2 years

Our published pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and geographical location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. Moreover, an employee's total compensation package varies by role and may include salary, cash bonus or commissions, and equity awards not quantified below.
