Job Summary
Serves as a technical expert and subject matter expert in understanding advanced manufacturing systems within each platform. Interacts regularly with plant leadership to ensure all systems are built to maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency. Leads the effort in measuring, tracking, and improving the system capability versus key processing parameters and finished product specifications. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities
Become both System and product subject matter expert for every stakeholder:
- Interface with Key Stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure mutual understanding of system performance and product quality (be in the know).
- Lead the effort in measuring, tracking, and improving system capability versus key processing parameters and finished product specifications.
- Act as the primary point-of-contact for the RQI function for any new product, process, or packaging improvements or start-ups.
- Consult on change management of designated process or system (new product, new package, new system)
- Liaise with RQI to achieve system capability of new product introduction, new packaging, formulation, and line extensions and engineering for technical changes to their process, local QA in driving reduction in consumer complaints
Improve System Performance
- Key technical resource on process ó product interaction. Understand capability of each unit operation to deliver in-specification product. Know system bottlenecks and propose actions to exploit them.
- Create and maintain product material balances including all relevant unit operations to insure optimal production rates, parameters and formulas. Analyze differences between the formulaic (theoretical) material balance and the plant (actual) operation and propose work to minimize differences.
Increase Productivity and Propose Capacity Solutions
- Understand each unit operation's unconstrained rate limits, by product, while still producing acceptable quality product.
- Create and maintain overall System Capability Profiles, by product, using the information learned from each unit operation's unconstrained rate capability study.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills through the use of continuous improvement techniques. Show thorough understanding of the interactions between machine, materials, methods, environment and people to provide robust operating systems.
- Implement solutions which use existing capital for maximum performance and capacity.
