Meet the team:
The Dexcom Information Security team is looking for a Senior Manager to lead our Security Operations (SecOps) function, which has global responsibility for security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management. This role will oversee a global team dedicated to safeguarding Dexcom's information assets, minimizing security risks, and ensuring a rapid and effective response to any security incidents. The SecOps team partners with various stakeholders across the organization, providing vital security insights and managing security technologies critical to Dexcom's mission.
The team integrates seamlessly with other security functions, ensuring effective defense against cyber threats through innovative tools, processes, and a proactive approach to threat and vulnerability management. The role also supports broader information security efforts, including developing security standards, contributing to certification initiatives, and driving security awareness programs.
Where you come in:
- Establish a cohesive vision for the SecOps team, lead the program roadmap, and deliver business-enabling security monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence capabilities.
- Manage and develop a team of analysts and engineers, ensuring high performance and growth.
- Oversee and maintain Dexcom's SIEM, threat intelligence platforms, and vulnerability management tools, along with a variety of endpoint, network, and cloud security technologies.
- Drive the global vulnerability management program, ensuring continuous assessment, prioritization, and remediation of security vulnerabilities across Dexcom's environments.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve operational processes and response protocols for security events, threat intelligence, and vulnerabilities.
- Lead incident response and forensic investigations, coordinate with internal and external partners, and implement improvements post-incident.
- Establish and report on operational KPIs, demonstrating the effectiveness of SecOps and identifying areas for improvement.
- Contribute to broader information security initiatives by supporting standards and policy development, security awareness training, and compliance and certification efforts as needed.
- Ensure alignment to and complies with relevant security standards and frameworks, such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
What makes you successful: - A BS/MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, or engineering; 6+ years focused on Security Operations; and at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success leading a global Security Operations function, with hands-on experience in incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.
- Effective communicator, skilled at conveying security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with SIEM (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel), endpoint protection (e.g., EDR), network security, and other security monitoring and threat detection tools.
- Knowledgeable in cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
- Strong background in managing, coaching, and developing technical staff with a track record of successful performance management.
- Enjoy staying current with trends and technology in the Security Operations domain.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, or GIAC.

Travel Required: - This position provides flexibility to work either from the San Diego, CA office or remotely. If remote, requires 5-10% travel, primarily to San Diego, CA.
Experience and Education Requirements:• Requires a degree in a technical discipline
• 5-8 years of previous people management experience
