Our basic investigative activities concentrate on immunology, genetics/genomics, pharmacology, DNA repair and oncogene action. Our clinical science covers each cancer type; has a strong focus in clinical trials of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, and in correlative laboratory studies. Our work is supported by a portfolio of peer-reviewed grants, industrial agreements and research endowments. The Patel Lab, located within the Division of Oncology, is looking for a full-time Social Science Research Professional II (SSRP II) to provide research support on health services and clinical research projects using mixed-methods community-based participatory research approaches. Work is primarily in the areas of equitable access to cancer care, upstream factors impacting cancer burden, and care across the continuum, including advanced care planning. The SSRP II will be engaged in project coordination, IRB protocol preparation and updating, assist with progress reports, participate in leading interviews and surveys by phone and in person, tracking and disbursing human subjects' incentives, and other research and administrative tasks as needed.
