Job Description Summary:
PayPal Marketing Technology team is looking for a talented, seasoned, and highly motivated Architect to join their team. The person will serve as a key technologist in the team responsible for the technical stack used for Marketing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and self-motivated individual with strong consulting, technology skills, commitment to quality, positive work ethic, and a "can-do" attitude. In this position, you will influence and negotiate platform architecture and make design decisions that impact PayPal Marketing and millions of PayPal customers and prospects across the globe.

You will closely collaborate with Architects, Program Managers, Engineers, Product Owners, and product teams to refine and deliver the strategies and build technical & solution architecture for large initiatives. You will work with partners and conduct technical assessments and impact analysis.

Job Description:

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Design and architect end-to-end solutions for applications, interfaces, and services that can be leveraged and extended for future product requirements.
  • Produce diagrams, designs, reference architecture, domain models, and other artifacts that describe complex problems and their associated end-to-end solutions.
  • Drive technical designs to consensus within PayPal's cross-functional technology teams and business stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate technology strategies and trade-offs both to senior and executive management and to product and engineering teams.
  • Gain and apply a deep understanding of Marketing domain and industry best practices to develop technical vision and strategy.
  • Play a vital role in the architecture design and configuration of Adobe solutions, including Adobe AEP, RTCDP, AJO, Target and CJA
  • Work with Development Managers, Program Managers, Architects, Lead Engineers, and Product Owners in scoping and sizing major company-wide product launches.
  • Review solution designs to determine their technical viability and their relevance to the business goals. Ensure non-functional elements (security, availability, supportability, resiliency, scalability, performance, etc.) are incorporated.
  • Responsible for creating API design, easy integration patterns for external services.
  • Develop and govern repeatable design strategies and patterns to ensure consistent solutions.
  • Guide engineering teams toward a common methodology.
  • Work with the product and engineering teams on Proof of Concepts.
Skillset and requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of software and systems engineering experience with development background in one (or more) of Java, Python or Node. Good knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript & Amp scripting with at least 5 years of solution-level architecting, designing, and delivering enterprise-grade Martech stack with Adobe
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering large scale distributed systems.
  • Deep SOA, Messaging, and Asynchronous event processing experience.
  • Experience in marketing solutions (i.e. Salesforce Marketing cloud, Adobe Experience Platform)
  • Experience in implementing customer data platform to support delightful, personalized experience for customers.
  • Must exhibit strong leadership and exceptional influence, negotiation, and technical skills.
  • Proficient using industry standards and technical expertise to establish best practices and strategic technical solutions.
