Job Description
The Senior Project Accountant supports the Financial Controllers and Business/Service Line Directors with Finance Business Partnering and project control for the entity/business. Delivers meaningful, accurate and timely management reporting & analysis on business performance and supports execution of financial planning. Point of contact for question on the planning process, management reporting and business analysis.
Job Responsibilities

- Provides accurate and timely accounting, reporting and project control for assigned projects.
- Analyzes cost reports and meets frequently with the Business Partner and Project Managers to review status of projects for invoicing, WIP, cost, profitability and cash flow.
- Directly responsible for monthly close cycle for assigned business segment: project review, cost accruals, margin analysis, income statement review/adjustments, along with project/segment reports.
- Prepares projects/segment monthly income statement and backlog reforecast.
- Sets up and maintains projects on an in-house accounting system according to contract terms.
- Reviews project contracts and additional service requests to understand the financial requirements for each project.
- Tracks and inputs budget/cost data for assigned projects. Ensures that projects are reasonable and recognize revenue using the POC method per IFRS standards.
- Prepares client invoices and answers project inquiries from staff, vendors, or clients, and communicates financial information to project managers and other stakeholders.
- Maintains digital project accounting files. May provide accounting support to other staff as needed. May be asked to train, educate or guide non-financial staff on accounting procedures.
- Able to meet deadlines.
Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
- Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
- Have 5 years or more of relevant Project Accounting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures, and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and advance arithmetic.
- Computer literate. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
