JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview:

The role of the Logistics Rate Auditor position will be to audit and process for payment Package Truck freight invoices, including Less-than-truckload (LTL) and Truckload carriers, for outbound prepaid, and inbound collect shipments. Review Carriers aging reports, and contact carrier(s) for copies of missing freight invoices, incomplete and / or inaccurate freight invoices. Including processing invoices at the shipment level to completion status and 'approving the invoice for payment' in our TMS system. Identifying and communicating carrier invoice issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Audit freight invoices and assist finance and business units with resolving Package Truck freight bill discrepancies that result from contractual interpretation of rates.
  • Define processes and process controls, monitor control execution, provide documentation, and act as interface to internal and external invoice audits.
  • Collect monthly carrier aging reports, and reconcile.
  • Identify trends with carriers that repeatedly have the same invoice issues month over month.
  • Provide reports on carrier trends, unpaid invoice volumes and dollars on a monthly basis to our customer as part of the monthly metrics meetings.
  • Prepare monthly aging reports of carrier activity, including volumes associated with the dollars owed to each carrier.
  • Collaborate with our customers Package Truck Procurement Team, APLL Freight Payment, CASS (if applicable), Business Logistics Leaders, ship sites, and the Package Truck Carrier base to resolve discrepancies.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements/enhancements

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be multi-task, set priorities, organize work and implement action items.
  • Self starter, self motivated, resourceful and responsive
  • Strong PC skills and expertise in Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
The typical starting salary for this position is$40,000 - $48,000.

The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, education and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes bonus and benefits.
