Responsible for providing ongoing support of general and cost accounting activities within the Finance department. This role is a key role in the internal control structure and also in closing the monthly general ledger.
Primary Responsibilities
* Perform month-end closing process (i.e. prepare journal entries, assist in control files).
* Review of inventory reports with emphasis on cost valuation analysis.
* Analyze general ledger account activity with the creation of reconciliation schedules.
* Ensures compliance with MM Packaging US, Inc. Accounting policies.
* Assist in reporting and analyzing key performance measurements for the company's various financial metrics.
* Closing of job orders in the ERP system.
* Perform ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support operations.
* Implement and maintain internal controls at the plant for operations, sales, and finance.
* Balance sub-ledgers between other HP&C plants.
* Ensures accurate P&L and Balance sheet transactions.
* Oversees all AP, AR, cash, inventory, fixed asset transactions.
* Liaison with Charlotte Management in running a profitable and cost saving facility.
* Support other functional areas of accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed - cut A/P checks, apply A/R payments, etc.
* All other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
* Minimum of 7+ years in a senior accounting management.
* 5+ years supervisory skills preferred.
* Manufacturing accounting experience required.
* Minimum 3 years experience manufacturing ERP systems required.
* Advanced level Excel skills required (i.e. VLOOKUP; IF statements, etc.)
* Month-end close experience required.
