The Senior Category Specialist provides retail sales and operational expertise to one business category. This role runs day-to-day category activities and focuses on execution of tactical plans for a specified category. This role is responsible for retail plans and tactics and supports the Category Manager as required with broader business initiatives and project work.<br><br>The Senior Category Specialist works cross-functionally with retail stores, vendors, merchant and marketing operations, merchants, marketing, demand planning, IT, finance, HR, services, retail operations, and other company partners to enable execution of business plans in retail.<br><br>This role is designed to work in a hybrid model which would have individuals in the office on average 3 days per week. All applicants must live or be willing and able to relocate to a commutable distance to the corporate campus in Richfield, Minnesota.<br><br><strong>What you'll do</strong><ul><li>Execute daily, weekly, and monthly category responsibilities in partnership with manager and team.\</li><li>Design category plans, tools, and tactics to yield a positive employee and customer experience.</li><li>Provide category teams and other partners with sales and operational perspective, advice, and limits regarding sales proficiency, retail capacity, and ability to execute plans. Ensure corporate actions and directions are deployed consistent with retail SOP and parameters.</li><li>Develop ongoing working relationship with category vendors as required to support day to day operational business needs and more strategic initiatives.</li><li>Works with cross-functionally with teams and contributes to sales, operational process, and strategy for product launches, business category strategies, and strategic initiatives.</li><li>Develop and maintain infrastructure and tools to maximize business across the category.</li><li>Coordinates key run the business operational activities in support of the broader category support team</li><li>Monitors retail feedback integration points and provides insight and opportunities to manager and partners.</li></ul><strong>Basic qualifications</strong><ul><li>2 or more years of experience in Business, Retail, Sales, Operations, or related experience</li><li>1 or more years of Retail supervisory or management experience.</li><li>1 or more years of vendor or external partner management</li></ul><strong>Preferred qualifications</strong><ul><li>1 or more years of financial management experience with P&L responsibilities.</li><li>1 or more years of Project management or cross-functional team experience.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and ability to constantly assess and prioritize work.</li></ul><strong>What's in it for you</strong><br>We're committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
