Laboratory of Dr. Jian Shu. This position requires an individual who will be able to perform single cell and spatial omics, cell fusion, and tissue preparation. Experience working with mice is required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.
- Execute protocols of non-routine experiments.
- Perform basic design and modifications of protocols.
- Participates in the design of experiments.
- Prepare solutions and perform base level procedures as assigned.
- Experiments to be performed include procedures on mice, single cell and spatial omics, imaging.
- Sets up and prepares non-routine experiments.
- Calculates, transcribes and analyzes data.
- Organizes and summarizes acquired data using scientific and statistical techniques.
- Maintains electronic laboratory notebook.
- Maintains mouse colony data in web-based software.
- Assists with organizing materials for publications or presentations.
- Mouse work includes tailing and genotyping of mice, setting up mouse matings, and organizing and maintaining mouse colonies.
- Assist the lab manager with maintenance and troubleshooting of lab instrumentation and equipment.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- The RT will have the opportunity for their own research project, plus the ability to work independently and as a team member.
Qualifications SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Must be realistic, objective, measurable and related to essential functions of this job.
§ 3+ years of experience in molecular biology, tissue preparation, single cell and spatial omics is required.

§ The person will need to be able to work in a group environment and be of assistance to a number of research projects. Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise others.
