Duties: The University of Pennsylvania Department of Radiology is seeking qualified candidates for a staff position focused on studies of lung disease in small animal models. Previous experience in tissue handling, dissection and basic surgical skills, a basic understanding of heart and lung physiology are also required; the ability to perform and carefully document experimental studies is of paramount importance. Successful candidates will also demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to rapidly and thoroughly master new tasks.
The successful candidate for this position will perform duties including but not limited to: animal transport to and from the animal housing facility, tail vein injection and intubation, implementation of a small animal brain death model and EEG monitoring, unilateral lung transplant in a rodent model, as well as post-operative animal care and CT imaging.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
