The Regional Marketing Leader (RML) is the lead commercial person responsible for engaging a core group of National, Regional and Community External Scientific Experts (ESE's) - leaders in their field of Hematology. The RML will be responsible for developing and implementing Regional Marketing Plans that align with the strategic imperatives of the brand strategy to influence and shape commercial success at local levels.
The role reports to the Head of Customer & Disease Strategy for the US Breast Franchise. Collaboration with brand marketing, field sales, medical, market access, national accounts, and other teams is necessary to establish the franchise as a market leader. This position is field based, collaborating with the Breast Oncology teams in TN, OH, WV, PA, KY, IN
Key Accountabilities
- Develop a Regional Marketing Action Plan (RMAP) that aligns with brand goals. The plan should prioritize achieving commercial objectives, generating insights, and building advocacy from leaders with a point of view.
- Identify and engage 35-50 National, Regional, and Community ESEs to build brand advocacy using advanced scientific, communication, and business skills. Support brand and global team on projects that require US ESE engagement, guidance, and/or involvement.
- Generate timely and actionable customer insights that inform brand strategy, decision-making, and other important marketing initiatives. Advance market challenges/barriers to leadership as cross-functional partners as appropriate.
- Compliantly manage multiple program budgets, timelines, processes, and procedures while adhering to required policies and trainings/certifications.
- Collaborate with field sales leadership, account directors, and other brand partners to develop and complete local regional strategies and tactics based on geographical market needs and opportunities.
Key Competencies:
- Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal communication and interaction skills and apply them in engagements with ESEs, ask tough questions and build strategic advocacy.
- Oncology Business Insight and an in-depth understanding of the delivery of oncology care, including the role of large Payers, GPOs, cancer care delivery in different practice settings, precision medicine, and organized oncology customers.
- An ability to identify regional marketing, and then project manage and implement regional marketing initiatives.
- Cross-functional collaboration with customer facing field teams across sales, market access, medical, and home office teams across brand marketing, key customer engagement, global, etc.
- Project management to plan and complete Advisory Boards, regional marketing tactics, taking assets through the MLR process, operational plan, and budget management.
- Implementation: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement regional marketing initiatives that deliver against brand strategic imperatives.
- Critical Thinking: Generate critical insights to inform brand decision-making.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree; preferably in a relevant field
- 10+ years of experience in pharma and/or healthcare industry with experience in one or more of the following: managed markets, brand marketing, sales, strategic planning
- 3+ years of Oncology Experience
- Expected 50-70% overnight travel including evening and weekend conferences when necessary
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in Breast Cancer
- Prior in-line marketing experience or Marketing Agency experience (HCP marketing)
- Experience working with third party vendors and agency partners
