Recyclables Facility Lead Summary

Load, unload, process and store nonhazardous and recyclable waste materials in a high tempo environment. Employee will perform all plant processes and operations.

How You Will Make An Impact:

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Will report to Facility Manager, Operations Manager and/or Plant Manager. Works with Maintenance Manager and other personnel to insure proper operations of equipment are maintained.
  • Able to work with office personnel and management to schedule and organize inbound/outbound trailers according to the schedule for the day/week.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve to maintain a high standard of safety and production.
  • Must be able to plan ahead for immediate trailer needs and offload trailers accordingly to provide drivers with those trailers which will ensure customers are being serviced in a timely manner.
  • Assist with scheduling inbound/outbound loads with office personnel. Able to flawlessly pair dock tickets to correct BOL (Bills of Lading) from the customers and able to process shipping/receiving documents with proficiency.
  • Develop good client relations by effectively communicating with customers and business partners and provide exceptional customer service. Assist customers on troubleshooting and correcting record keeping inconsistencies and service concerns.
  • Able to be the floor production/safety leader. This includes organizing the day's schedule, properly delegating responsibilities to employees, ensuring safety is always in line with production, opening/closing the facility, conducting final inspection of the facility prior to leaving, ensuring all pre/post trips have been done properly and taking responsibility for facility production, accidents/incidents & dock preparation for the following work day.
  • Ability to accurately complete required production/safety/quality reports in a timely manner.
  • Operate a fork truck with attachments and other company vehicles as needed. Utilize scale equipment to document all receiving, shipping & inventory management. Able to safely operate all processing equipment. Perform equipment and area inspections.
  • Safely and effectively manage materials to and from processing line operations in accordance with established Company procedures.
  • Verify recyclable products (grading materials properly) and ensuring that processed materials meet established specifications prior to shipping.
  • Provides direction to others performing material management, sorting, processing and housekeeping duties. Help keep employees on task.
  • Perform defined equipment PMs, cleanup and housekeeping duties
  • Serve as a resource and trainer to less experienced personnel.
  • May run/work/lead other weekday and/or possible weekends shifts.

What You Will Need To Succeed:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 2 - 3 years of related experience required.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Good knowledge of general industry practices required. Good working knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations preferred. Ability to lift 60 pounds. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator.
