Position Summary:

UNC Horizons-Wake seeks a part-time Gender-responsive SUD and Reentry Peer Support Specialist to serve as a reentry lead to help women impacted by substance use, trauma, violence, and incarceration meet their reentry and/or recovery goals, with support focusing on release and treatment completion. The primary duties for this position include conducting screenings, working within an interdisciplinary team meeting, meeting with clients monthly (will have a shared clinical caseload with other clinical supports for this task) and documenting services provided, and comprehensive discharge planning and follow-ups for clients enrolled in services.

Additionally, this person will assist with evaluating the services of the program. This includes working closely with the Program Director of Community Engagement and Integrated Treatment Services/Director of Gender-responsive SUD and Reentry Services to ensure that the program is meeting its evaluation milestones. This includes compiling behavioral health information gathered services provided and entering that information within federal and state reporting databases.

Specifically, provide peer support services to clients engaged in Gender-Responsive Substance Use Disorder Reentry Services:

a) Engage in ethical service delivery and practices as required by all auditing bodies (certification and licensure boards, UNC University, UNC Horizons)
b) Foster hope and healing among individuals impacted by SUD, trauma, violence, and incarceration through story-telling and strengths-based skills
c) Serve as a member of Horizons' interdisciplinary team, Reentry Clinical Team and Evaluation Team
d) Assist clients at the time of release from incarceration, 1:1 monthly session, and ensuring a detailed comprehensive discharge planning
e) Attend Horizons' weekly interdisciplinary meetings and individual supervision, and other team meetings
f) Document services delivered in adherence to program productivity standards. All contacts for peer support must be documented with a daily service note. The note must indicate purpose of the intervention, the specific intervention providing how effective the intervention was, and how much time was spent providing the intervention

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and have the ability to connect with individuals/clients at the time of reentry.
* Must be knowledgeable of the impact of trauma, stigma, substance use, and incarceration among pregnant, parenting, and single women
* Must have a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

* Has a direct experience or knowledge of substance use during pregnancy, substance use and incarceration, and exposure to social work or counseling experience; or experience with the substance abuse population
* Holds an addiction credential from the NCSAPPB (CADC, CADC-R, LCASA)
* Experience working within an interdisciplinary team

Special Physical/Mental Requirements:

Must have a valid driver's license
