Position Overview
The Quarry Laborer will be responsible for various tasks at the aggregate site.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Understands and applies safe use and operation of the equipment and communicates with other employees about safety related matters. Performs all functions in a safe manner in accordance with company policy and procedures. Performs plant repair, maintenance and fabrication as directed. Inform supervisor of any maintenance or repairs needed. Maintains a clean work area. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed. Qualifications Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities.
Education/Experience
- Previous aggregate experience preferred.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Welding experience strongly preferred
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Display a professional attitude toward co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Welding and cutting torch experience.
- General knowledge of plant maintenance.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding.
- Valid driver's license.
