Job Summary
The Purchasing Agent ensures the accurate and timely purchasing of all items or services to fulfill and meet company requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability and other criteria.
- Developing and optimizing vendor relationships.
- Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deal on behalf of the company.
- Enter requisitions into database in an accurate and timely manner.
- Place orders and expedite as needed to insure timely delivery.
- Review any invoice discrepancies. Apply to suppliers with requests for credits or adjustments.
- Negotiate freight charges and identify the most efficient and cost-effective movement.
- Direct communication with manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless operation of the facility with minimal disruption of production.
- Handle inventory counting and data entry.
- Other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Job Requirements
- Excellent writing and organizational skills are essential.
- Effective communication skills used across multiple internal departments and external contracts as required.
- 2+ years prior purchasing experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office is essential.
- High School diploma required.
- Associates Degree is a plus.
Compensation
- Target hourly rate is $25.00 to $30.00
- Yearly bonus eligible
