The department of Psychiatry has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Manager, Research Support to work on the UHealth campus. The Project Manager, Research Support (A) coordinates and leads efforts in a variety of research activities that are complex and wide in scope. Moreover, the Project Manager, Research Support (A) operates with the goal of ensuring that the collection of data and administration of studies are performed efficiently and in compliance with applicable guidelines.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Aids in the evaluation of problems with workflow, organization, and planning and develops appropriate analytical approaches.
- Maintains multiple protocol books and chronicles manuscript preparation.
- Performs analyses of computerized datasets using standard packages to import, update, and manipulate datasets.
- Presents studies' results at professional scientific meetings and conferences.
- Writes manuscripts and journal articles for peer-reviewed medical journals.
- Ensures that research program objectives are communicated, met, and results are documented.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
- Manages research flow of multiple protocols, including maintaining the flow of specific duties of Research Associates, fellow and students.
- Serves as project liaison to other departments, outside organizations, government agencies, and product representatives.
- Works with the all research coordinators and the IRB office on submission of new study protocols and study amendments and continuations for active studies.
- Maintains multiple research and training protocol books and ensure program deliverables are achieved on time.
- Coordinates routine activities of research studies including data maintenance, grant expenditure adherence, project evaluation, meeting scheduling, and research subject interfacing.
- Coordinates activities supporting study contact with participants, including, but not limited to, scheduling visits, maintaining participant records, administering informed consent forms, managing patient recruitment and retention, and community engagement efforts.
- Coordinates all training and mentoring activities within UM and other affiliated institutions.
- Provides all necessary support to trainees in matters pertaining to the recruitment, enrollment, and participation in training activities as well as involvement in scheduled mentorship and didactic activities.
- Coordinates, manages, and delegates data collection and maintenance for research and training activities.
- Assists in the performance of analyses of computerized datasets using standard packages to import, update, and manipulate datasets.
- Assists in preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed medical journals and proposal development and submission.
- Ensures that program objectives are communicated, met, and results are documented.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience; Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferred

- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
