RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Project Estimator in Camden, NJ.Specific Areas of Responsibility:
  • Project Estimator will participate in proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contact activities to enable proper contract acquisition
  • Provide support to senior stakeholders regarding contractual and business issues
  • Act as the primary interface with customers during proposal phase, negotiations, and contract performance
  • Work well as a member of the cross-business team (CBT - Finance, Legal, HR, and Project teams) and foster teamwork with both external and internal customers
  • Handle several assignments concurrently while maintaining schedule deadlines
  • Understand the project/program and its requirements
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
  • Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses, or other venues
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
  • Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting
  • Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
  • Perform risk analysis
  • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions, etc.)
  • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.)
  • Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.)


REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSc/BA in Engineering, Construction Science, or relevant discipline
  • Proven experience as estimator or similar position
  • In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas
  • Experience supporting Federal clients, specifically under Civilian agencies such as DoD/DoE
  • Organization and planning: Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and multitask to ensure efficient handling of the many tasks associated with the role
  • Proactivity: Demonstrates the ability to manage individual tasks and seek new tasks that facilitate Project completion
  • Follow through: Demonstrates reliability in completing or managing assigned tasks
  • Communication: Demonstrates clear and concise communication on regular basis between project associates, senior management members, and external partners
  • Teamwork: Demonstrates the ability to work with and thrive in a diverse and challenging team environment
  • Critical thought/questioning attitude: Challenges and considers information and processes
  • Excellent math and IT ability with an analytical mindset
  • Proficient in relevant software
Optional Additional Qualifications:
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)
  • Demonstrated understanding of cost structures, material estimates, development costs, performance requirements, delivery schedules
  • Contract administration and/or management experience
  • Understanding of competitive procurements and ability to support the development and preparation of high quality, complex proposals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills in word processing, data input, and spreadsheets (experience with ERP is an advantage)


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
