This position will maintain the School of Graduate Studies (SOGS) policies and procedures and all documentation needed from SOGS for SACSCOC accreditation. This position will also handle all office activities, including financial and workflow processes to ensure smooth, efficient operations within the Academic Affairs and Finance offices, and the Department of Applied Education. The Program Manager will examine the efficacy of existing policies and procedures and lay the groundwork for new programs and legislation to meet objectives and goals. The Program Manager's duties include reviewing and amending policy drafts and proposing suggestions to improve the effectiveness of existing policies. oversees fiscal, operational, and administrative management of the STRONG grant.

Daily Operations

  • Evaluate different types of policies and make recommendations for changes regarding the policies to SOGS administration. Conduct research and analysis to support policy development and decision-making. Write clear and concise policies and guidelines for activities within the Graduate School. Develop and modify the existing policies and guidelines to adhere to current documentation standards. Develop and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs related to SOGS.
  • Provide support to the Department of Applied Education for the overall implementation of the
  • tracking and evaluation plan, including collecting and analyzing program data to assess program effectiveness and drafting progress reports. Oversee effective and efficient daily operations to support goals and coordinate overall logistics to ensure a successful mission; serve as the primary administrative point of contact and contribute to the department's overall success through oversight of assigned projects and deliverables. Assist the Department of Applied Education with planning, administering, and coordinating the activities and objectives of the Program, including organizing meetings. Coordinate with other school administrative staff to manage multiple programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Oversee effective and efficient daily operations to support the Meharry-STRONG grant program goals and coordinate overall logistics to ensure successful program implementation; serve as the primary administrative point of contact and contribute to the overall success of the program through oversight of assigned projects and deliverables
  • Assists with preparing grant proposals, including conducting research, gathering internal and external data and developing templates for student proposals and institutional grants; Manage daily financial expenditures; approves and monitors budget expenditures; maintains fiscal
  • records and oversees daily aspects of budget management, including monitoring available funds
  • balances; developing budgets for grants
  • Handles outside visitor travel: purchases airline tickets, reserves hotels, processes registrations, completes travel authorization/expense forms, and ensures timely reimbursement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
  • Master's degree (M.B.A. or M.A.) from an accredited college or university with at least two (2) years of directly related management expertise and administration experience required; or BA from an accredited college or university with at least 4 years of administrative experience.
