Production Supervisor - Home Energy

BASIC FUNCTION
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating production activities in accordance with Rehlko's priorities, Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost. Your role will involve supervising personnel, managing workflow, monitoring production processes, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. You will play a crucial role in driving productivity, meeting production targets, and maintaining a high level of employee morale and engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Supervise Production Team: Lead and manage a team of production workers, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support as needed. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Production Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with the production planning department to develop and implement production schedules and allocate resources effectively. Coordinate with other departments, such as materials, maintenance, and quality, to ensure smooth operations and timely production.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and procedures. Implement and enforce quality control measures, conduct regular inspections, and address any issues or deviations promptly. Identify areas for improvement and recommend process enhancements to optimize quality and efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track production metrics, such as output, efficiency, and downtime, and analyze performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Generate regular reports on production activities, progress, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to share with management and stakeholders.
- Employee Training and Development: Identify training needs and facilitate the training and development of production personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge. Ensure that employees are properly trained in equipment operation, safety procedures, work Instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Health and Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a culture of safety in the production area. Implement and adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections, address safety concerns, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and increase productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other improvement frameworks.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production problems, equipment malfunctions, and other operational challenges in a timely and effective manner. Investigate root causes, propose corrective actions, and work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment uptime.
- Manage associate time via Work brain system, prepare reports, work on special projects, and perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Ensure adherence to applicable product compliance requirements including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulations and California Health and Safety Code.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Supervisory Relationships:
- Reports directly to Home Energy Plant Manager
- Supervisory responsibility for operators in respective work area and shift
Organization Relationships:
- Frequent contact with Home Energy Operations, SIOP, Materials, and Quality teams.
- Frequent contact with Rehlko Engines Operations, SIOP, Materials, and Quality teams.
- Occasional contact with Corporate Systems, Accounting, Communications, Legal
- Occasional contact with executive leadership team members
Skills/Requirements
- Associates degree preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum 3 years of people management/leadership experience required.
- Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing and project management techniques are highly valued.
- Strong leadership, growth mindset, and interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must have direct people management experience.
- Must be capable of defining, analyzing, and resolving complicated problems.
- Exceptional Excel, Microsoft office, SAP, and analytical skills required.
- Demonstrate communication and leadership skills, with experience in leading large groups of associates in a common work cell.

The salary range for this position is $69800 - $87950. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
