Product Development Manager I

Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Product Development Manager I/II to design and develop products across several QHP (Qualified Health Plan) lines of business, including products offered through vendor solutions. This role identifies and develops new product value propositions and new product strategies to enhance the existing product portfolio and to retain and grow the Company's market leader position for health insurance products.

This will be an on-site position with a hybrid option following training.

To be considered for the role, you have the following:

Experience: 2 years of product development, implementation, lifecycle management, marketing, or related health industry experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years of relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)

What your day may look like:

• Responsible for portfolio of products and solutions for complex product lines.
• Support the building and management of vendor partnerships for high performance of vendor products in the product portfolio.
• Develop and implement a multi-year product development roadmap and strategy for assigned products.
• Ensure strategy and value proposition creation meets performance goals and are delivered within established timelines and budget.
• Build and formulate business plans (included but not limited to, market and competitive analysis, need identification, desired business position, return on investment, feasibility, product specifications, go-to market strategy, etc.) and translate research discoveries to develop and implement products supported by line of business leadership.
• Identify and review market competitive analysis and research effectiveness of new and existing products to discover, develop, and evaluate new product ideas, improvements to existing products, or strategic product extensions.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify and react to market needs and develop membership forecasting and pricing strategy for new products, services, and benefit enhancements.
• Lead product development opportunities for both internal departments and external resources to ensure market winning products with accurate operational requirements.
• Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and support the regulatory filings of products.
• Identify and lead the lifecycle management process from conceptualization to product launch to product discontinuance ensuring execution is in line with the project plan and addresses performance goals for assigned markets.
