Job Description
Contractor Responsibilities:

Our high-speed active cable assembly group is actively working to improve its process for development, regression testing, and task tracking. We are looking for an individual to drive the development of internal processes, create actionable items, and complete these items to assist the design and development team in improving efficiencies and overall effectiveness. This individual is expected to meet with the team, develop the plan, and then implement anything necessary to accomplish the plan with minimal assistance from the existing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • XML Development: Develop XML files and structures containing product-specific data to allow test and regression systems to run autonomously.
    • Break down existing Excel data into multiple files for easier maintenance and change management.
    • Data includes CMIS, product-specific data, customer-specific data, signal integrity data, mechanical data, etc.
  • Software GUI Development: Create, modify, and deploy XML files and create binary files for production software (Python/C#).
    • Enable PDE to update a limited subset of registers and make releases without AEC team involvement.
    • Provide AEC team full R/W access to all registers.
  • Production Software Modification: Modify existing production software to parse created binaries for programming into hardware (VB).
    • Current software parses Excel files.
  • JIRA Automation: Develop JIRA test flows and automation to track testing and regression testing lifecycles.
    • Automate task state transitions in JIRA.
    • Automatically create daughter tasks and track their progress.
    • Trigger tests in TE's internal testing framework, customer switches, and other test equipment as defined in XML files.
  • CI/CD Testing: Create automated CI/CD testing methodology triggered on git commits.
    • Optimize bug discovery and validation by automatically testing code based on commits.
    • Run a subset of regression tests on a per PR basis.
  • Release/Regression Testing: Develop release/regression testing methodology for high-speed modules in TE-developed test systems, customer network switches, and associated internal test systems.
    • Scale current regression testing setup.
    • Convert Python regression test files to run within a switch.
  • Nimshi Production File Validation: Confirm Nimshi production files are properly configured.
    • Test each dash number within a release to ensure successful programming.
    • Ensure cables work as programmed by Nimshi.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in a high-speed test engineering role.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with high-speed test and networking equipment and switches.
  • System Knowledge: Familiarity with high-speed test system architecture, system diagramming, test software, hardware build, and validation.
  • Programming Skills: Experience with XML, Python, VB, and C#.
  • Automation and Scripting: Experience with test equipment automation and scripting.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience using GIT/Gitlab/Bitbucket/Jira and scripting associated tools using Python, REST APIs, and webhooks.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to interpret test/lab data and identify issues.
  • Project Leadership: Experience in project leadership across design, development, and manufacturing teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Global Collaboration: Ability to work in a global environment, accommodate varying time zones, and collaborate with individuals across geographies.
  • Motivation and Independence: Highly motivated, quick learner, and able to work independently.
