A DAY IN THE LIFEEnthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicity testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
Our El Dorado Hills, CA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Prep Chemist to join our LCMS team.
Compensation: $21.00 - $26.00/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; Availability for flexible schedule/shift preferred
As a key member of the LCMS laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Preparation, extraction, and clean-up of various environmental sample matrices
- Perform sample preparation where needed (i.e. homogenization, etc.)
- Use of centrifuge, analytical balance, and various evaporative systems with organic solvents
- Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
- Maintaining clean laboratory areas
- Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
- Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
- Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
- Comply with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other policies
- Comply with Enthalpy's Health and Safety Plan
- Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, this position may require the individual to work rotating shifts assignments, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Must have the ability to lift 50-60 pounds using Company provided equipment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the duration of shift while performing frequent routine tasks.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in the chemical, environmental, physical or biological sciences Skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques
- Ability to function both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to follow all standard operating procedures
- Detail-oriented and desire to produce high quality work - Perform at a high level under strict time
- Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
- Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
- Good organizational skills and strong communication skills
