The Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn LDI) is a mission-driven organization, dedicated to improving health and health care by catalyzing collaborative, multidisciplinary research that influences policy and practice.
Penn LDI is powered by a team of dedicated staff who are committed to creating impact through better health policy and health care, and we are currently looking for a new Policy Coordinator to join our team. This position is an exciting growth opportunity for an individual interested in learning about and facilitating impactful work that influences improvement in health care access and coverage, health equity, care for older adults, the opioid epidemic, and population health.
Job Description
The Policy Coordinator will provide instrumental support for multiple facets of Penn LDI's policy-focused activities. These duties provide exposure to many aspects of health policy and cutting-edge health services research and are described below.
The Policy Coordinator will be responsible for supporting LDI's content creation process, including: identifying and organizing potential pieces of research for LDI coverage; monitoring and exporting publications reports from online databases; presenting relevant research to the policy team; helping to ensure progress on faculty-written content; tracking, disseminating, and communicating Penn LDI's written content to policy-focused lay audiences; and formatting content for the LDI website and social media accounts.
This position will also assist with Penn LDI events, background research, and data entry as needed.
Qualifications
The Penn LDI Policy Coordinator role requires a team player with flexibility and the ability and willingness to support multiple projects and priorities at the same time. Successful candidates will enjoy a dynamic and fast-paced work environment and will be motivated by creating an impact and thriving alongside highly ambitious and creative colleagues.
Candidates must excel at effective communication with multiple constituencies including faculty, staff, students, internal and external partners, and government agencies. The Policy Coordinator must also be detail oriented, organized, versatile, and a results-driven self-starter. Skill with data tools (Excel and R) and data visualization are a plus.
A Bachelor's Degree and 2 -3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Familiarity with health care, health policy, population health and/or health services research is strongly preferred. Position is contingent upon funding.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
