Job Description Summary
Provides health care services on a full-time or part-time basis in an owned or affiliated health care entity of Penn Medicine or The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Provides inpatient hospital services as required and fulfills all medico-administrative duties associated with membership on each hospital medical staff of which clinician is a member. May participate in a minimum of 50 hours per year of active and high quality teaching or equivalent service. Performs prompt, courteous and competent professional services in accordance with generally accepted professional standards for such services and with the standards established from time to time. Maintains license to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in Pennsylvania or location of affiliates, if applicable.
Providing direct patient care to Endocrine and Diabetes patients at Lancaster General Hospital with affiliation with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and at the CHOP Exton outpatient location.
This is a clinical position for a board-certified pediatric endocrinologist to provide direct patient care for children with diabetes and other endocrine conditions. In addition, this provider will serve as physician collaborator for a diabetes nurse practitioner. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates in focused clinical track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and be board certified in pediatric endocrinology. Clinical responsibilities are primarily outpatient to provide high quality care to children and adolescents with diabetes and endocrinology conditions in close collaboration with other members of the team including diabetes nurse practitioners, social workers, diabetes educators, and dietitians. This position will be based primarily at CHOP Lancaster and Exton satellite offices. The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes comprises nearly 30 faculty with diverse clinical and investigative interests and has clinical programs with nearly 30,000 outpatient visits yearly.
