The Division of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks board certified/eligible physician scientist neonatologist who can contribute to the Division's clinical and research enterprise at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level in the University Medical Line (UML), University Tenure Line (UTL), or Non-Tenure Line (Research) (NTLR).

  • The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching.
  • The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
  • The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the Non-tenure Line (Research) is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists.

Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The Division has exceptional opportunities for supporting cutting edge investigation related to neonatal and developmental disease. Collaborative, multidisciplinary programs currently include perinatal epidemiology, the mechanisms of neonatal lung diseases, causes of prematurity, neural developmental and brain injury, and noninvasive monitoring of neonatal physiology. Outstanding expertise in clinical investigations and laboratory-based studies provide a unique environment for studying neonatal development and disease. The clinical and research environments across the Stanford campus are unparalleled in generating discoveries and innovation that will define the future of medicine.

The successful applicant will have a productive research program addressing the important questions related to perinatal or neonatal diseases and outcomes. We are particularly interested in candidates developing and employing innovative technology and translational approaches to neonatal precision medicine. Examples include multi-omic studies of disease processes, noninvasive physiological monitoring, and computational risk prediction. The expected base pay range for this position is:

Assistant Professor: $287K - $299K

Associate Professor: $329K - $342K

Professor: $380K - $401K

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
