Responsible for handling a high volume of incoming calls from both physician's offices and patients. Will schedule, re-schedule, update and change patient appointments in a timely manner. Responsible for ensuring pre-cert/authorization requirements have been met. Will have thorough knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes. Scheduler will be responsible for pre-registration. Responsible for filing and interpretation of physician orders.

Scheduler is responsible for updating demographic information. Assist patients ranging in age from adult to geriatrics who may call to verify the time/date or other information about their procedures.

Qualifications
Required: Includes solving, operating, reasoning,interpreting, remembering, understanding, directing, controlling, computing,and counting. Good Counseling and communication skills. Strong interpersonalskills, courtesy and tact with patient, family members, physicians and staffmembers. Analytical ability for numbers and situations. Keyboard, Computer,CustomerService Skills,and office machine experience

Preferred; Two year experience in a physician's office setting withscheduling responsibilities or in a health care environment with admittingbackground preferred Typing proficiencyof 40 words per minute preferred.

Preferred; High school diploma preferred which generallyprovides the ability to read and write in order to schedule patients and readwarning and preparation experience.
