GENERAL ADMINISTRATION (KO-GENA-IUKOA)
Job Summary
IU Kokomo is seeking part-time bus drivers to operate a 22 and 40-seat passenger bus transporting faculty, staff, and students to University-sponsored events, including sports games/competitions.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for safe driving practices and recording mileage for the trips, as well as fueling the vehicle.
- Responsible to drive passengers on interstate trips.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
RequiredLICESNSE AND CERTIFICATES
Required- Class A or B commercial license with a passenger transport endorsement and no restrictions that would prevent driving at night.

- Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations and safety precautions and practices in the operation of public transportation vehicles

- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse population and effectively communicate with passengers, members of the public and other staff
Working Conditions / DemandsPre-employment drug screening is required, and random drug testing of drivers throughout the year is required in compliance with Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act and the Department of Transportation Administrative Regulations, applicable Procedures and university policy. Ability to drive during the week, as well as night/overnight travel, is required. Previous experience driving a passenger bus is preferred.
This position is part time and will require ability to drive during the week, as well as night/overnight travel.
In-state and out-of-state travel are scheduled regularly.
