Job Summary

The Buyer (Food Ingredients & Packaging) ensures that the production team has the necessary materials by managing inventory and ordering supplies. Each Buyer oversees the procurement for specific categories, requiring strong communication, organization, analysis, and negotiation skills. This is an onsite position in Monroe, WI that is direct hire and pays $70-80K for an annual salary.

Job Responsibilities

• Procure ingredients and packaging within budget while maintaining quality.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely deliveries and effective communication.
• Coordinate with schedulers, plant operations, and finance to align procurement with production schedules and budgets.
• Monitor inventory to avoid shortages and excess, optimizing levels and minimizing costs.
• Collaborate with various teams to anticipate material needs and align procurement with production requirements and new product launches.
• Resolve delivery and invoicing issues with suppliers.
• Conduct monthly inventory counts.
• Keep accurate pricing and delivery dates in the ERP/MRP system (Canopy).
• Purchase other expense items through the maintenance system (M+).

Requirements

• 3-5 years of purchasing experience, ideally in food, packaging, and/ or consumer packaged goods.
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for making data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems is preferred.
