This role will oversee all aspects of the billing operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

Lead and manage the billing department, ensuring high levels of performance and employee engagement.

Develop and implement strategies to improve billing processes, reduce errors, and enhance operational efficiency.

Mentor and train billing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Billing Operations

Oversee the preparation and issuance of invoices in a timely and accurate manner.

Ensure all billing activities comply with contract terms, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Develop and maintain a robust billing system, including automation and integration with other financial systems.

Financial Management

Monitor billing metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile billing with accounts receivable and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting related to billing operations. Customer Relations

Work closely with customer service and sales teams to resolve billing disputes and inquiries promptly.

Maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing their billing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate billing errors and fraud.

Conduct regular audits of billing processes and systems, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Project Management

Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to enhance billing processes, systems, and technologies.

Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, recommending and implementing innovative billing solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in billing, finance, or accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Proven experience in the logistics, transportation, or related industry is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of billing systems, financial software, and database management.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
