Mechanical Design Engineer (2 roles)

9-12 month contract to hire

Remote to start than on site in McHenry, MS (will consider candidates willing to travel to McHenry, MS couple times a month)

Both of these roles will be in the 5 year range.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Contract Mechanical Designer to join our team for a 9-12 month project. The successful candidate will work remotely with some travel to the customer, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineers to design and refine manufacturing equipment and tooling. This role requires a strong proficiency in SolidWorks and the ability to create detailed technical prints.

Responsibilities:

•Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to gather design requirements for manufacturing equipment and tooling.

•Utilize SolidWorks to create and modify detailed 3D models and mechanical designs.

•Develop comprehensive technical drawings for manufacturing equipment and tooling.

•Review and complete partial designs to ensure they meet functionality requirements.

•Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

•Manage design documentation and maintain accurate revision control.

Requirements:

•Prefer mechanical engineering or mechatronix degree. Strong experience may be considered.

•Experience with energetics processing equipment design a strong plus.

•Proven experience in mechanical design with a strong portfolio of completed industrial projects.

•Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling and print creation.

•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively communicate with team members remotely.

•Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all technical drawings and documentation.

•Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.

•Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
