Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Manager, Strategic Governance is responsible for ensuring work associated with the Eskenazi Health strategic plan is presented and coordinated with a high level of clarity and efficacy in internal and external settings. The Manager, Strategic Governance will provide direct support of assigned governance, ensuring presented topics and material follow Eskenazi Health established standards. This role will be responsible for developing, influencing, enforcing, and supporting strategic governance standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Review, preparation and approval of applicable governance documentation and meeting content.
• Resolution of conflicts or escalations that arise related to applicable governance topics, decisions, and content.
• Engaging stakeholders throughout the health system to build support and buy-in for applicable strategic governance efforts.
• Development and maintenance of roles and responsibilities of those involved in applicable strategic governance.
• Development of tools and methods used to monitor and report strategic governance status and progress.
• Identification of issues and gaps that are barriers to governance success and development of corresponding solutions to provide a roadmap for success.
• Development and maintenance of governance transparency with attendees and appropriate external audiences.
• Monitoring risk, quality, and timelines associated with assigned governance responsibilities.
• Ensuring that governance processes are consistent and transparent providing a fair and equitable environment for all participants.
• Development of appropriate checks and balances that ensure strategic governance content is factual and consistent.
• Development, preparation, and ownership of applicable meeting materials.
• Ensure adherence to good meeting practices (pre-meeting content, minutes, send of decisions post-meeting, etc.).
• Coordinate with the Executive Team and other staff to ensure meeting preparation and post meeting action items are completed on time with an understanding of when to escalate issues.
• Manage methods, procurement of information, and procedures for assigned governance.
• Help establish, implement, and document governance processes and best practices for applicable committees.
• Track and manage committee requests, ensuring compliance with governance standards.
• Provide additional administrative support as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years' relatable experience. Master's degree preferred.
• In lieu of degree must have 5 or more years of experience in a professional setting interfacing with both entry level team members and leadership positions.
• Project management acumen demonstrated through experience, training, and preferably certification.
• Experience in work associated with prepping for, leading, and post-meeting management of governance and committees.
