JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview:

Serve as manager for Credit & Collections Mmgt, as a " lieutenant" for Director, Global Credit (succession planning).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Credit reviewing and pre-vetting potential new customers and opportunities using Credit Risk Monitor and COFACE, to evaluate financial risk.
  • Ensure policies and procedures within Credit Control reflect best practice and SOX compliance and supply support, education and training where necessary.
  • Facilitate timely collections management in the six regions.
  • Assist in improving processes in the six regions, under the direction of the GCCD.
  • Assist with the smooth implementation and training of the SAP Global Credit and Collections Module, concerning deduction / collections management, SAP metrics, interest billing and dunning notices.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly review for bad debt/bankruptcies.
  • Arrange meetings between Commercial and Credit, Finance and Management to discuss trends and solutions for past due accounts leading to payments.
  • Monitor and participate in follow up with Credit Desk (Philippines).
  • Assist with preparation of Credit documentation for annual credit reviews, credit memorandums, preparation of financials evaluation for larger customers.
  • Any work designated by the GCCD; The above list is not exhaustive and the Credit Manager may be required to carry out additional duties from time to time to meet the needs of the business.
Key Result Areas:
  • Support growth in APLL Credit monitoring customer financial risk and streamline processes.


QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics, or equivalent working experience:
  • 5-10 years experience in a credit management environment, preferably using SAP
  • 5-10 years experience in credit risk management and analysis
Requirements:
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel (vlookup/pivot tables) and Outlook.
  • Strong Analytical skills and ability to review, understand and interpret customer financial statements
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, meeting deadlines.
  • Be a collaborative team player and able to work with minimal supervision.
Candidates must be within 250 miles of an APL Logistics facility or office.

The typical starting salary range for this position is: $86,520 - $130,725.

The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, education and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes bonus and benefits.
