Position Summary

Personally assist mechanics as needed to prevent unnecessary loss of production time given to them support on Mechanical, Electrical, PLC, AC and DC Drives, and any other problem involving the Machine Breakdowns

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedules daily repair activities.
  • Manage and ensure efficiency of PM (preventative maintenance)
  • Coordinates and recommends purchasing of maintenance parts and equipment.
  • Supervises and inspects repair and maintenance work to insure that the most effective, efficient and up-to-date maintenance and repair technology and practices are used in a safe and professional manner.
  • Determine maintenance issue causes and develop and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide Production Manager with feedback on machine/equipment status.
  • Coordinate and manage all environmental related mandates and corporate related polices governing environmental and maintenance operations.
  • Reviews maintenance work orders and other written notes and information to determine priority of need based on production schedules and urgency of problems to plan repairs.
  • Enforces plant safety regulations and housekeeping practices and encourages employees to become safety conscious through safety meetings.
  • Manage department budget. Organize, prepare and submission of scheduled capital & major maintenance items for the annual budget.
  • Manage resources needed for maintenance tasks and project.
  • Conducts training of the workforce as needed and ensures appropriate disciplinary actions are taken when deemed necessary. Insures compliance with the Union contract and company policy.
  • Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or with GED Certificate; or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
