JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled Logistics/freight forwarding specialist to manage international and domestic transportation planning and logistics operations. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in freight forwarding and logistics operations.

Responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods by air, ocean, and truck; including all necessary documentation and communication with Supply Chain team, Freight Forwarder, Client, Contractors, and third-party service providers. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication skills to manage relationships with Client and Freight Forwarder.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Working with freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers to ensure best routing, pricing, and transit of all international and domestic freight.

• Coordinate the movement of goods by air, ocean, and truck through various transportation channels

• Monitor and tracking for Ocean, Air and Truck freight and communicating that status of these shipments internally as required

• Request and obtain inbound/outbound freight quotations as required from various transportation providers

• Review and process required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading

• Securing and scheduling shipments through the approved third-party resources.

• Communicating via phone and email to ensure bookings, scheduling, and coordination of material movement activities.

• Ensures regulatory compliance and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams

• Prioritize time sensitive cargo

• Works closely with team members to meet or exceed all customer service requirements

• Ensures problem resolution, including identifying issues, applying critical thinking to determine the best course of action, and implementing solutions

• Adheres to all domestic and international shipping regulations and compliance

• Production of shipping documents for all materials movements.

• Updating of Transportation Status reporting to project and client.

• Coordinating material delivery of fabrication items, out of gauge/oversize cargoes.

• Attending Project Meetings

• Liaison with all Project personnel, client representatives, and suppliers where appropriate to resolve logistical issues.

• Ensures all Supply Chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.

• Update the project with estimate lead and delivery times, notifying any delays to supply chain management.

• Carry out all activity in accordance with the Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct, ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and applicable processes and procedures are complied with, and all documents are filed accurately and fully auditable.

• Promote safe working practices and demonstrate safety commitment.

• Understands and lives Woods vision, values, and behaviors.

• Carry out all activity in accordance with the Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct.

• All other tasks as reasonably requested by line management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5-8 years working for an International Freight Forwarder

• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry which would allow understanding of and exposure to key logistics concepts and principles

• Experience with International (air and ocean) and US Domestic movement of complex equipment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong problem solving and effective time management skills

• Execution of job duties will require a team-oriented individual that is customer service focused, and able to obtain a strong knowledge of systems and vendor capabilities

• Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple deadlines

• Ability to prioritize and take action proactively

• Ability to keep coworkers informed on daily activities

• Ability to maintain professionalism in highly stressful situations

• Coordinate activities & prioritize workload

• Work under pressure to meet deadlines

• Work independently to meet project / role objectives

• Flexibility to come in early or stay late when necessary

• Must exhibit a stable past employment history
