JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Documentation - Upon satisfactory financial arrangements, compose appropriate documentation to support applications for visa's to enter the U.S. Coordinate appointments with Clinical Concierge to ensure timely services, sensitive to family travel needs. Ensure interpreter services are arranged, as needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations whenever dealing with third parties. Coordinate with Guest Services to facilitate accommodations and transportation needs of families. Ensure timely compliance with payor requirements for re-authorizations, medical documentation, etc. Maintain a database of international patients. Assist divisions with the Out-Of-Area Approval Process.
  • Relationship Building - Coordinate international video-conferences. Develop and nurture relationships with peers/coordinators at international partner institutions to facilitate interactions and collaborations. Develop and nurture relationships with foreign embassies, U.S. State Department, etc. to facilitate visa applications and payor relations. Involve program administrator in important issues in a timely manner. Develop and nurture constructive relationships with clinical, education, and research services in order to ensure positive and timely responses in the best interest of international patients, families, and visiting professionals. Participate in marketing efforts and foster good relationships with visiting foreign physicians. Be an ambassador to CCHMC when in contact with foreign entities and individuals.
  • Patient Care - Be a contact for international inquiries for patient care. Solicit medical records of potential international patients. Work with physician specialists throughout CCHMC and their clinical and business support staff to develop appropriate consultation and treatment plans for international patients. In consultation with division financial management and patient financial services, convert consultation/treatment plans into financial estimates of anticipated costs. Work with families, international payors, foreign embassies or ministries of health to arrange reimbursements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline
