Job Summary
Under the direction of the Nurse Director, the Informatics Nurse participates in the ongoing planning, implementation, training, evaluation and maintenance of a variety of systems used to support the delivery of patient care and practice of physicians, nurses and other clinical staff.

This includes but is not limited to patient care documentation, computerized provider order entry, electronic medication administration and other clinical systems. The Informatics Nurse provides project leadership, direction and technical expertise in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of clinical information systems in Perioperative Services, Endoscopy Services, and Cardiovascular Services.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through various communication styles such as written and verbal communication.

• Demonstrated organization skills that promote the responsibility for self-direction.

• Demonstrated ability to support advanced clinical applications from user provisioning to creation and maintenance of dictionaries to creation of test scripts for application implementation and upgrades.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex systems problems and ability to prioritize, manage, and implement complex projects.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field strongly preferred.

• Master's degree in Nursing, Informatics or related field preferred.

• 3 years of development, evaluation, and implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) or other clinical applications. Minimum of 3 years previous nursing experience in a health care institution of similar size and complexity.

• Experience with meeting facilitation and training required a well as

Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint)

• Preferred: Informatics Experience with OpTime, Cupid, Radiant

• Preferred: Perioperative Nursing experience

• Preferred: OR or PACU

  • Informatics Nursing Certification (RN-BC) preferred
