Job Description
The Carrier Payables Specialist ensures timely and accurate payment of insurance carrier accounts, along with the reconciliation and balancing of related general ledger accounts.
FUNCTIONS:
- Reconcile carrier statements and invoices against EPIC invoicing promptly and accurately.
- Investigate discrepancies, collaborating with internal Account Managers and carrier contacts to resolve issues.
- Process payments to Finance Companies for financed policies as required.
- Monitor the subsidiary ledger to ensure timely carrier payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier contacts to facilitate open communication and issue resolution.
- Participate in seminars and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic accounting knowledge, including journal entries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and agency management systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a team environment.
- Ability to adhere to company policies and maintain confidentiality.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-4 years of agency accounting experience, with a focus on accounts receivable and payable.
- High School diploma required; college-level accounting courses or equivalent experience preferred.
