raising the band to minimum $60,720; target max $75,900.

Purpose

The Health Coordinator is responsible for promoting the health and well-being of refugees and other ORR eligible populations. The incumbent is responsible for working with client groups to raise awareness and promote good health through training and workshops. Collaborates with program administrators and managers to streamline service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Medical and Mental Health workshops tailored to the culturally diverse needs of the targeted population.
  • Conduct activities to increase health literacy and empower clients to make informed health decisions.
  • Provide clients with information to navigate health care systems.
  • Participate in planning and dissemination of health promotion topics.
  • Create health promotion materials and displays related to health education/promotion.
  • Maintain client specific program reporting information as required by the Office of Refugee Health
  • Network with community partners and medical professionals to enhance workshops.
  • Maintain communication with State Refugee Health Coordinator.
  • Attend community meetings and events.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities under the Refugee Health Promotion Grant.
  • Assist refugees in navigating the U.S. healthcare system, including insurance and preventive care.
  • Conduct initial health assessments and coordinate healthcare services within 30 days of arrival.
  • Strengthen partnerships with local healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies.
  • Support overall mission and success of the Refugee Health Program through additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree

Experience:
  • 4 years' work experience with community-based organizations and knowledge of community-based resources, health promotion, quality improvement and evaluation. Project coordination preferred.
  • Experience in health education and/or promotion of community health with diverse communities.
  • Adhere to the confidentiality policies of CWS.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with refugee and immigrant populations.

Skills:
  • Strong organizational and priority-setting skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with deadlines and lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Energetic individual with clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Experience in conducting group presentations.
  • Experience in developing and adapting materials according to the needs of a program.

Other Skills:
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, database, PowerPoint and Web-based applications.

Special Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle. Mileage accrued while executing work responsibilities is reimbursable by CWS.
  • Must complete motor vehicle record check.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
  • Background check required.
