Strategic Context:
Currently, Sanofi has the most robust pipeline and forthcoming product launches in the company's history. As the next phase of our Play-To-Win strategy, Sanofi must appropriately support this pipeline to materialize our vision of delivering scientific miracles to patients worldwide. Thus, modernizing the Sanofi operational structure is also required. In line with this, project DRIVE is shepherding change throughout the organization and created the development of the Go-to-Market Capabilities (GTMC) team within the company.
The new GTMC organization is charged with delivering best-in-class capabilities to bring speed and increased value to commercial operations. It will refine priorities across products, markets, and the pipeline through dynamic resources allocation and efficiencies. Silos that existed between business units as well as duplicative and overlapping resources will be replaced with standardized processes and tools. Operating with a One Sanofi mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, GTMC will accelerate and improve key capabilities to do more with less and facilitate the best-informed strategic decision making across the organization.
The GTMC organization aims to:
- Centralize Go-to-Market operational tasks across GBUs
- Standardize best in class capabilities, strengthen global support, and implement a better vertical reporting structure within GTMC from local to global
- Define ways of working, bringing clarity on the interactions across GBUs, Digital, and Commercial executional support teams from Sanofi hubs to optimize process excellence and efficiency
The
US Head, Commercial Insights & Analytics, Vaccines is responsible for leading a team focused on delivering Commercial Insights and Analytics including integrated analytics, forecasting, and market research that is used to derive deep insights in support of the Sanofi US Vaccines ambition. This is a leadership role, and based on the experience of the candidate, they will have direct responsibilities for Market Research and Insights & Analytics for US supported by their team. Leading with an action-oriented insights approach, they will help drive local strategies. The Head, CI&A will be an integral strategic partner to Sanofi's commercial leadership and many cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., market access, medical affairs, launch excellence, etc.) They will lead a high performing team that aims to exceed expectations of those they support. Partnering with the Sanofi extended offshore team to maximize the insights generation and delivery process is also a key responsibility of the role.
This position will report to the Head of Insights and Analytics, North America and will be based in Cambridge, MA or Bridgewater, NJ
Main Responsibilities
- Define ways of working, bringing clarity on the interactions across GBUs, Digital, and Commercial executional support teams from Sanofi hubs to optimize process excellence and efficiency
- Drive innovation where marketing teams can leverage more actionable insights faster
- Ensure insights delivery to brand stakeholders are tailored to each specific audience to empower commercial teams
- Drive collaboration across GTMC Global COEs and US organization ensuring to avoid duplication.
- Lead US Brand Planning and Forecasting activities in US Vaccines to bring key business insights in a proactive manner to US GM's, Vaccines US Head and Ex-Com leaders within the commercial organization.
- Assess and implement novel methodologies (AI, ML and Behavioral) frameworks in coordination with GTMC COEs to accelerate meaningful insights to inform brand / development plans in a manner that keeps pace with the speed of the critical US market.
- Effectively lead the US Vaccines CI&A Team by prioritizing initiatives and workloads, lead strategy development, and partner with business unit heads for overarching Go-To-Market strategies
- Develop the Vaccines I&A team, cultivating talent to build your team with innovative methodologies and best practices
About You:
- BA/ BS degree with minimum of 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required; equivalent combination of education (MA, MS, MBA / PhD) and / or relevant consulting experience may be considered
- 5+ years management experience required including experience managing leaders (2nd Line) and CI&A groups with responsibility for pharmaceutical forecasting, analytics, customer insights, and market research.
- Strong Knowledge of data industry standards and US Pharmaceutical/Vaccines analytics ecosystem
- Understanding of Vaccines and buy and bill products required
- Strong understanding of all types of market research and advanced analytics principles, with a clear understanding of modeling methodologies and applied techniques (e.g., Bayesian statistics, regression, customer life cycle value, A/B testing, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to drive to deadlines, balance competing priorities, and ensure high quality
- Experience with vendor-side market research or CI firm and/or consulting firm strongly preferred
- Product launch experience required including new product planning, marketing, value and access required
- Knowledge and experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., prescription and sales data, patient claims data, promotional audits) required
- Demonstrated ability to drive to deadlines, balance competing priorities, and ensure high quality deliverables
- You should be able to lead in a matric environment and influence at senior levels of leadership
