Head of Strategic Initiatives & Operations- Market Access

Responsibilities:

• Act as the market access lead on cross-functional initiatives with teams outside of the US Value and Access organization.
• Lead or set up task forces to take on strategic initiatives for Alexion medicines, such as emerging payment models, innovative contracting models, landscape research, biosimilar strategy, and legislation.
• Lead tracking for upcoming legislation that would impact Alexion's business through partnership with government affairs.
• Assess and inform the market access organization of new capabilities and innovation that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the US Value and Access organization.
• Lead in the impact modeling of environmental shifts and marketplace dynamics on the Alexion portfolio of medicines.
• Lead development of market access communications in alignment with holistic US Commercial Communications.
• Ensure effective governance process and organize major meeting schedule for Market Access team.
• Co-lead with VP Market Access development of annual operating plan (focus on FTE and project spend).
• Lead all market access training and compliance initiatives.
• In partnership with Access Strategy, development and implementation market access congress, conference, and sponsorship strategy.
• Manage market access budget activities including working closely with Finance.
• Identify interdependencies and connections between departments and ensure integrated end-to-end visibility and alignment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of related and/or transferable experience in a biotech or pharma company.
• Ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex business proposals.
• Strong understanding of relevant U.S. regulations and policies.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex business challenges and data-driven recommendations to senior leaders.
• Knowledge of the US market access landscape as well as subject matter expertise of Market Access organizations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
• Must exhibit strong leadership skills.
• Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Project).

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or other advanced degree.
• Project management experience and excellent analytical, strategic thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Expresses industry knowledge and acumen including Rare Disease experience.
