Duties: The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Grants Manager A who will work in the Pathology Research Business Office. Under limited direction, provide pre and post award research and financial administration support for individual investigators within the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Prepare proposal, budgets, monitor grant expenditures, and produce financial reports to ensure compliance. Recommend corrective actions as needed. Maintain and monitor financial activities related to grants from faculty and manage their overall research portfolio. Act as a liaison to PSOM Research Services Support and University ORSS. The Grants Manager B will also assist the Administration and Financial Officer with follow-up, training and hiring other grants management staff in the office.
Qualifications: Grants Manager A
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or in an equivalent field and 3 years to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Business Objects, and Ben Financials. Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills.
Successful candidate must be highly motivated, goal oriented, and be able to meet deadlines.
Grants Manager B
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or in an equivalent field. and 5-7 years experience in grant and contract/research administration or accounting/business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication skills, ability to work independently and multi-task. Business Objects knowledge and proficiency in spreadsheet applications preferred.
Must be able to act in a lead capacity and provide training and mentorship to department staff
