WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Global Safety Director is responsible for directing, developing, and overseeing safety management programs to ensure a safe working environment and minimize the organization's exposure to hazards relating to employee safety. This role involves conducting safety assessments, developing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. The Global Safety Director will work closely with various departments, outside vendors, and brokers to promote a culture of safety and proactively address potential safety concerns.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures for construction projects, including subcontractors and vendors. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging trends in safety and risk management.
  • Oversee\Manage domestic and overseas safety and risk employees
  • Responsible for the communication and implementation of new safety rules and policies.
  • Develops process to review and update safety manuals.
  • Creates and introduces new programs to the field, ensuring job site checklists are complete, and that proper training is performed. Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
  • Develops programs to investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Become the company's safety champion creating an environment and policies where the safety of our employees comes first.
  • Oversees the management of workers compensation claims, compliance and reporting through established process standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate safety programs, policies, and protocols
  • Establish and monitor suite of safety performance metric reporting
  • Work in partnership with line of business, office, and department leadership to fully adopt and comply with established safety protocols and practices
  • Establish program of safety training modules and method of tracking completion
  • Work with HR to ensure safety culture and mindset is included as part of new employee orientation and on-boarding
  • Implement initiatives to reduce the level of work-related accidents and or occupational hazards.
  • Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
  • Ensures the proper review and maintains safety information for proposals
  • Develops, creates, and leads safety committee
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive training programs on relevant safety standards, ensuring all employees receive appropriate instruction.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Haves:

  • Extensive knowledge of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Experience in identifying , assessing and mitigating various types of risks. Development and implementation of risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • At least 5 years in a occupational health and safety management position

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required.
  • At least eight years of occupational health and safety experience
  • Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
